小蟲(chóng)子累了

A tired little worm went to sleep one day,

一天有只小蟲(chóng)子累了，

In a soft little cradle of silken grey,

用灰色的軟絲把自己圍繞，

And he said, as he snugly curled up in his nest,

舒服地蜷縮到里面說(shuō)：

Oh, crawling was pleasant, but sleep is best.

“爬行很美妙，睡覺(jué)才最好”

He slept through the winter long and cold,

它就在卷起的被子里，

All tightly up in his blankets rolled,

一直睡過(guò)了漫長(zhǎng)的嚴(yán)冬，

And at last awoke, on a warm spring day,

在暖和的春日蘇醒，

To find that the winter had gone away.

才發(fā)現(xiàn)寒冷消失無(wú)蹤

He woke to find he had golden wings,

它長(zhǎng)出了金色的翅膀，當(dāng)自己一覺(jué)醒來(lái)，

And no longer need crawl over sticks and things.

再也不用費(fèi)勁地爬過(guò)草莖的障礙。

Oh, the earth was nice, said the glad butterfly,

高興的蝴蝶說(shuō)：“啊，大地很美妙，

But heaven is best when we learn to fly.

可我們學(xué)會(huì)飛翔的時(shí)候，天空才是最好!”
