知更鳥(niǎo)啊，聰明又快樂(lè)的家伙，

Pray, why do you never peck twice at a cherry?

每顆櫻桃，為啥你只啄一回?

You fly at the daintiest one you can see,

你朝著最漂亮的那顆飛過(guò)去，

Eat a morsel yourself, and just spoil it for me.

吃了滿口，卻讓我再難下嘴

O Robin, sweet Robin, you dear little warden,

知更鳥(niǎo)啊，親愛(ài)的小衛(wèi)兵，

You’re welcome to feast on the fruit in my garden：

到我的花園里，吃什么我都?xì)g迎，

I know what invaders you’re driving away

我明白你在長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的夏日

From flower and from tree, through the long summer day.

趕走入侵者，給花樹(shù)帶來(lái)安寧。

But Robin, bright Robin, please listen to reason.

但是知更鳥(niǎo)，你不傻，聽(tīng)我一言：

You waste lots of cherries, my pet, every season：

每年你都把紅櫻桃，浪費(fèi)得實(shí)在不淺

I finish my cake to the very last crumb;

我自己的蛋糕，會(huì)吃完最后的一片，

Why cannot you finish your cherry or plum?

你怎么不能把桃李，吃得不留一點(diǎn)?
