雪中麻雀

He hopped down cheerily into the snow,

勇敢的小灰球赤著腳，

Brave little barefoot Brownie,

歡快地跳下，落進(jìn)雪里，

As if that were the warmest thing below,

好像腳下是最溫暖的東西，

And as cosy as it is downy.

好像絨毛，蓬松又愜意

And his brown little knowing saucy head,

動(dòng)作讓人禁不住想笑，

In a way that was certainly funny,

那灰色小腦袋，頑皮又機(jī)靈，

He jerked to one side, as if he had said,

歪到一邊，仿佛說(shuō)的是：

I don’t care though it isn’t sunny!

“我不在乎老天還沒(méi)放晴!”

I don’t care! I don’t care! he chirped and said,

喳喳叫著：“不在乎!不在乎!”

And he winked his eye so cheery;

眨了眨緋紅的眼睛，

"For somebod’s left me some crumbs of bread,

“有人給我留了點(diǎn)面包屑，

So the whole world is not dreary.

這世界就不再冷清!”

And what’s a cold toe, when I have a whole suit"

已經(jīng)有了一件灰色的大衣，

Of the warmest and best brown feathers?

羽毛暖和，腳冷又算啥?

I don’t care though I have not a shoe to my foot;

沒(méi)有鞋穿我也不用管，

I’m a bird, sir, for all sorts of weathers.

遇到什么天氣，我都不害怕。

"I don’t fly away at the first touch of frost, Like some of your finer-tongued birds;

有些鳥兒，唱歌更動(dòng)聽，可濃霜一來(lái)，就沒(méi)了蹤影;

I don’t think everything’s ruined and lost When the wind mutters threatening words.

我卻不信一切都將失去，哪怕風(fēng)兒呢喃著成脅的言語(yǔ)。

I don’t care!" "he chirped;" "I don’t care!" I don’t care!

喳喳叫著：“不在乎!不在乎!

It might be a great deal colder

天氣還要轉(zhuǎn)冷吧，那又怎樣?

But I am a fellow that knows not fear;

我這家伙，不知什么是害怕，

Old Winter but makes me bolder!"

冬老頭兒，只能讓我更堅(jiān)強(qiáng)!”

Ah, plain, little, hardy, brown-coated bird,

啊，平凡而倔強(qiáng)的灰衣小鳥，

Through life I’ll try to remember

你讓我一生都不會(huì)忘記，

To meet all its storms with a cheerful word

用快樂(lè)面對(duì)一切風(fēng)暴，

And like thee to brave my Dccember.

在嚴(yán)冬也要拿出勇氣!
