Like spectral hounds across the sky,
白云蒼狗，幽靈潛行掠過空中，
The white clouds scud before the storm;
金蛇亂舞，暴雨黯淡天陲之路，
And naked in the howling night
時光裸露，倏然跌進(jìn)嚎叫的夜晚，
The red-eyed lighthouse lifts its form.
漸次燈火，映亮大地黑色眼瞳。
The waves with slippery fingers clutch the massive tower, and climb and fall,
澀滑的手，死死抓住生的隙縫，高聳桅樓，沉浮驚濤駭浪之中，
And, muttering, growl with baffled rage their curses on the sturdy wall.
抵命掙扎，囁語或咆哮似乎徒勞，尖刻詛咒，無法撞開死亡堅(jiān)固。
Up in the lonely tower he sits,
孤獨(dú)地，少年坐在高高的桅樓，
The keeper of the CRImson light:
燈火，洇出無邊黑暗深紅，
Silent and awe-struck does he hear the imprecations of the night.
耳邊響起，死神的瘆人話語，詭異嶙峋的腳步，驚悚萬分。
The white spray beats against the panes
海浪拍天撞擊窗欞，宛如
Like some wet ghost that down the air is hunted by a troop of fiends,
白色鬼魂，濕漉漉從天而降，急切躲避，尋找藏身之地，
And seeks a shelter anywhere.
身后撲來，一群惡煞兇神。
He prays aloud, the lonely man,
孤獨(dú)的老人，高聲祈禱，
For every soul that night at sea,
為海上，血濃于水的生命，
But more than all for that brave boy
生死一線，勇敢少年可否承受？
Who used to gayly climb his knee,
想起當(dāng)年，孩子與他嬉戲盤桓，
Young Charlie, with his chestnut hair,
轉(zhuǎn)眼間，年輕帥氣的查理，
And hazel eyes, and laughing lip.
淡褐色眼睛， 笑容滿面地走來，
“May Heaven look down,” the old man CRIes.
“萬能的主，但愿你能保佑！”
“Upon my son, and on his ship!”
保佑我的愛子和他的船！
While thus with pious heart he prays,
黑暗中，老人虔誠禱告，
Far in the distance sounds a boom:
天邊驚雷，訇炸成片轟鳴，
He pauses; and again there rings
焦急萬分的老人，側(cè)耳聆聽，
That sullen thunder through the room.
雷聲滾過低空，慍怒陰沉，
