Work, work, my boy, be not afraid;

干活，我的孩子，不要害怕；

Look labor boldly in the face;

勇敢地，面對(duì)勞動(dòng)；

Take up the hammer or the spade,

從容地拿起，錘子鐵锨，

And blush not for your humble place.

千萬(wàn)不要，為卑微感到羞愧。

There's glory in the shuttle's song;

穿梭機(jī)，歌唱中賦有榮光；

There's triumph in the anvil's stroke;

鐵砧敲打，寓意著凱旋勝利，

There's merit in the brave and strong who dig the mine or fell the oak.

勇敢堅(jiān)強(qiáng)，涵蓋人的優(yōu)秀品德；陽(yáng)光照耀，工人們堅(jiān)實(shí)臂膀。

The wind disturbs the sleeping lake,

微風(fēng)，拂起沉睡的湖面，

And bids it ripple pure and fresh;

撩動(dòng)，優(yōu)美的水意潺潺；

It moves the green boughs till they make grand music in their leafy mesh.

狂風(fēng)，挪動(dòng)綠意蔥蘢的枝干，茂密叢林，奏起交響奇觀。

And so the active breath of life should stir our dull and sluggard wills;

生命翕動(dòng)，吐出力的歡暢，是否攪翻，沉寂的死水昏然？

For are we not created rife with health, that stagnant torpor kills?

如果不愿，淪陷致命慵懶，哪怕身體康健，情欲正常？

I doubt if he who lolls his head where idleness and plenty meet,

是否，他還無(wú)力地歪著頭，恣意放縱，將怠惰富足寫在臉上，

Enjoys his pillow or his bread as those who earn the meals they eat.

沉湎于，煙水繁華的食色享受，與艱難討生活面孔，相得益彰。

And man is never half so blest as when the busy day is spent

如果，銘記生活中點(diǎn)滴感恩，忙碌充足，度過愉快時(shí)光，

So as to make his evening rest a holiday of glad content.

節(jié)日禮花，綻放成光明降臨，夜晚的心，最終皈依安康。
