Jury是陪審團(tuán)。美國的司法程序是陪審人員組成的陪審團(tuán)須列席法庭。在聽完原告和被告的證詞之后退出法庭商議，被告是否有罪。作出裁決后，陪審團(tuán)回法庭由法官宣讀他們的裁決。所以the jury is still out就是陪審團(tuán)還在庭外商議，尚未作出誰是誰非的決斷，即懸而未決；仍未達(dá)成定論。
