千萬不要把 You asked for it 理解成“你要求的”！

ask for it

ask for it是口語，意思是“自找麻煩”、“自討苦吃”，也可以用ask for trouble。

例：

You are asking for it.

你這是在自找麻煩。

I ask you

先看例子：

That silly man, I ask you, who does he think he is?

那個(gè)傻子，他以為他是誰啊?

這里的"I ask you"在中間，

是用來強(qiáng)調(diào)你有多么看不慣或者不贊成某個(gè)事物。

I ask you!

的意思其實(shí)是

something that you say in order to show your surprise or anger at something someone has done

這叫什么事啊!(表示吃驚或憤怒)

例：

They stayed for a month and left without even saying thank you! Well, I ask you!

他們住了一個(gè)月卻連句謝謝都沒說就走了。這叫什么事啊!

ask for the floor

ask for the floor意思是“要求發(fā)言”，這里的the floor指“(會議的)發(fā)言權(quán)”。與此有關(guān)的習(xí)語還有g(shù)ive the floor(〈會議主席〉同意發(fā)言)、have / get / obtain the floor(獲得發(fā)言的機(jī)會)、hold the floor(控制住發(fā)言權(quán)不放，作冗長的講話)、take the floor(起立發(fā)言)等。

例：

He stood up and asked for the floor.

他站起來，要求發(fā)言。

ask me another

ask me another是口語，意思是“我不知道”。

例：

—Has Helen finished his homework?

海倫完成作業(yè)了嗎?

—Ask me another.

我不知道。

to ask for the moon

Moon是月亮。Ask for the moon按字面意思來解釋就是：要月亮。作為習(xí)慣用語，to ask for the moon就是想做做不到的事情或是想要得不到的東西。比如說，我們社區(qū)的居民要求市政府修建一個(gè)新的健身設(shè)施。可是政府預(yù)算中根本就沒有這筆開支，很明顯這是做不到的。所以這是asking for the moon - 想要得不到的東西。

例：

You might just as well ask for the moon as for a bicycle, because you're not going to get either.

你想要輛自行車就等于是在想要天上的月亮，因?yàn)槟隳臉佣际堑貌坏降摹?/p>
