以前看美劇時(shí)

看到里面的人說(shuō)

“Where was I”

還以為是要上演

我是誰(shuí)，我在哪的失憶戲碼

后來(lái)一看字幕才明白

盡管這句話是用“where”提問(wèn)的

但它所問(wèn)的

和地點(diǎn)完全無(wú)關(guān)

而是一句地道的習(xí)慣性問(wèn)句

“我剛剛講到哪兒了?”

(Now)where was I?

What was I talking about? Where did I leave off? (Said after an interruption of some sort.)

It is pronounced exactly the same as the word wear (as in wear clothes).

The word were rhymes with sir and fur.

It’s the same sound as in the word bird.

The word we’re is short for “we are.”

You can pronounce it with an eer sound as in beer and fear:

However, when speaking fast, we often pronounce it more like were:
