"發(fā)信息" 不是send message！老外聽到會懵圈的

每個人每天都要處理一大堆信息

“有什么事發(fā)信息給我”

“到家給我發(fā)信息”

……

只是“發(fā)信息”應用如此頻繁

英語怎么說你知道嗎?

“發(fā)信息”不是 send message

send a message在英語中有這么個意思

to make someone understand that a particular thing is right or true, or to make someone understand what your attitude is

讓某人明白某件事是對的或真實的，或者讓某人明白你的態(tài)度;向…發(fā)出明確信息

例：

By taking this action, we are sending a message that bullying will not be tolerated.

通過采取這一行動，我們發(fā)出了一個明確的信息：欺凌行為不會被容忍。

The magazine sends the wrong message about healthy weight to teenagers.

這份雜志在青少年的健康體重問題上發(fā)出了一個錯誤的信息。

而我們現(xiàn)在常說的“發(fā)信息”

老外會說 text sb.

就是打字給某人留言

例：

I'll text you as soon as I get home.

我一到家就給你發(fā)信息。

Text me when you arrive.

到了就給我發(fā)信息。

不管微信、短信

這些消息都可以用text

想強調(diào)用“微信”就說

text me on WeChat

“送禮物”≠send a present

首先send的用法是沒錯的

send sb sth 或 send sth to sb

送某人某物

但是這個“送”和我們中文的“送”是有區(qū)別的

來看一個例子

他送了我一份禮物。

He sent me a present.?

He gave me a present.?

正確的表達應該是：give sb a present

因為send 所指的送其實是：

寄送，傳送

除非禮物是郵寄或由專人送去的

否則就不能用這個詞

而give本身就有“贈送”的意思
