“鞋店”是“shoes store”還是“shoe store”?

鞋店

?盡管我們看到這兩個(gè)說(shuō)法

都能準(zhǔn)確的理解到

說(shuō)的就是鞋店嘛

可是

這兩個(gè)說(shuō)法都是對(duì)的嗎?

對(duì)母語(yǔ)是英語(yǔ)的人來(lái)說(shuō)

地道的說(shuō)法

是什么呢?

@Adge Cutler

A shoe shop sells shoes. No one actually says shoes shop. Even though I've never seen a shoe shop sell an individual shoe, that's just how it is.

shoe shop賣鞋。實(shí)際上沒(méi)人說(shuō)shoes shop。盡管鞋店從來(lái)不賣一只鞋,但事實(shí)上就是這么說(shuō)的。

It seems to be normal to singularise the commodity - e.g. a hat shop, The Sock Shop, The Tie Rack, etc.

將商品單數(shù)化使用似乎是很尋常的——像是帽子店hat shop, 襪子店Sock Shop, 領(lǐng)帶架Tie Rack等等。

鞋店

還有一些特殊的,

比如說(shuō)

clothes shop

服裝店

因?yàn)閏lothes并不是可數(shù)名詞

也并不能用cloth來(lái)表示

cloth是布,并不是服裝

electronics store

電子商店

(賣電子產(chǎn)品的)

如果去掉s,

electronic就是形容詞“電子的”

就變成了這家商店是一家電子的商店

Otherwise, when a noun is used as an adjective, the normal usage is to have the singular form of the noun.

否則,當(dāng)名詞用作形容詞時(shí),通常的用法是名詞的單數(shù)形式。

Since "shoe" is modifying "shop", it is acting as an adjective, and thus the singular would be standard. Similarly, "toothbrush", not "teethbrush", etc.

shoe是用來(lái)修飾shop,它就是起到形容詞的作用,因此就應(yīng)該使用單數(shù)。類似的,你也應(yīng)該用"toothbrush", 而不是 "teethbrush"。

鞋店

今天的內(nèi)容都學(xué)會(huì)了么?

歡迎評(píng)論交流心得~
