在西方，法庭假如沒有充分證據(jù)證實被告有罪，那么，為免制造冤獄，實行寧縱毋枉，被告得判無罪，這叫做give somebody the benefit of the doubt，直譯是“既有疑點，利歸某人(被告)”。現(xiàn)在，這句法律用語往往給引用到其他場合，意思是“對人家的懷疑既然未能證實，且往好的一面想”
