1、Humans are inherently kind.

人性本善。

Strangers will go far, far out of their way to help you get around. All you must do is ask sincerely and thank copiously.

陌生人不只是陌生人，他們會(huì)熱情主動(dòng)幫助你解決難題。你所要做的事就是真誠地詢問并充分地感謝。

2、Just because something is in a guidebook doesn’t mean you have to go look at it.

旅行手冊(cè)上出現(xiàn)的東西，并不意味著你一定要去看。

3、 Every person in a hostel is a potential best friend.

青年旅社里的任何人都有可能在未來成為你最好的朋友。

And sometimes they’ll agree to travel with you for days or weeks, after knowing you for a mere day. Look! Lifelong pals!

很多這樣的情況：他們可能才剛認(rèn)識(shí)你一天，就同意和你一起進(jìn)行幾天或幾星期的旅行。瞧，這就是終身的好伙伴啊!

4、 Trains don’t always depart when they say they will.

火車不總是準(zhǔn)點(diǎn)開。

…or ever.

或者……總不是準(zhǔn)點(diǎn)開。

5、It is not only possible, but socially permissible, to wear the same outfit for seven days in a row.

連續(xù)七天都穿同樣的衣服，這不僅很有可能，也是社會(huì)大眾允許的。

How else are you going to fit your suitcase into the easyJet carry-on box? All you really need are a few colored scarves… that way, people won’t notice the same T-shirt recurring in photo after photo.

要不你咋能把你的手提箱塞進(jìn)易捷航空(歐洲第二大廉價(jià)航空公司)的登機(jī)行李箱里?所以你真正需要的只是幾條不同顏色的圍巾……這樣，人們就不會(huì)注意到你穿著同樣的體恤衫出現(xiàn)在一張又一張相片里了。

6、 English truly is the universal language.

英語的確是全球通用語言。

And people who are learning English looove to practice it with you, even if they don't make sense.

那些英語學(xué)習(xí)者非常熱愛用英語和你聊天，盡管他們說的話可能一點(diǎn)意義也沒有。

7、Spontaneity is rewarded.

臨時(shí)起意很值得。

Like that time you snagged the one Euro flight to Finland in an online promo. Or when you bought a last-minute ticket to the show in Ibiza. They weren’t the most logical decisions, to be sure, but they’re memories you’ll replay in your mind forever.

8、Traveling solo reveals hidden talents.

9、Taxi drivers are some of the greatest people on Earth.

They just love to talk. And they’re so enthusiastic. And they drive you places so you don’t get lost like usual.

他們熱愛談話，充滿熱情。并且他們把你送到你想要去的地方，你再也不用迷路了。

10、Study abroaders are incredibly lucky people.

去海外留學(xué)的人都是不可思議的幸運(yùn)兒。

Very few humans get to spend carefree months exploring the world beyond their hometown, let alone during college. To study abroad is a privilege, and an awesome one at that.

很少有人能夠花費(fèi)幾個(gè)月無憂無慮的時(shí)光，去探索家鄉(xiāng)外面的世界，更不要說在大學(xué)期間。所以去國外留學(xué)是一種特權(quán)，非常了不起。
