　　Dessert & Desert

　　Dessert是一種甜點，而the desert是指的是又熱又干的沙漠。

　　Accept & Except

　　Accept意思是接受或是同意某事物，而except則恰恰相反，指的是排除的意思。

　　There & their

　　前一個單詞是地點副詞而后者是物主代詞。例如Their house is over there.

　　Principle and principal

　　Principle是信條、價值觀或是基本原則的意思，而principal意思是學(xué)校的校長，或是主要的事物。前一個單詞是個名詞而后一個是動詞，因此你可以advise someone by giving them good advice.

　　Assure & ensure

　　To assure某人意思是打消他們的疑惑或使他們安心，而ensure意思是確保(某事發(fā)生)。例如I assured him that you would be there, so please ensure that you get to the meeting on time.
