“復(fù)聯(lián)3”：漫威宇宙的十字路口

They’ve fought big villains before – alone and together – in 18 films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After 18 films, Avengers: Infinity War, released in Chinese mainland cinemas on May 11, is a crossroads for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

《復(fù)仇者聯(lián)盟3：無限戰(zhàn)爭》已于5月11日在國內(nèi)上映。在18部漫威電影之后，這部大片來到了漫威電影宇宙的十字路口。

On the one hand, a lot of things happen that change the path forward for the characters we’ve come to know and love over the last decade. On the other, the film amounts to a drastic shift in storytelling. In Infinity War, the main character isn’t Tony Stark, nor is it Steve Rogers, Thor or Doctor Strange.

一方面，過去十年間發(fā)生了太多事情，改變了大眾所熟知和喜愛的諸多角色的發(fā)展方向。另一方面，這部電影在敘事方面也有了巨大的轉(zhuǎn)變。在“復(fù)聯(lián)3”中，主角并非托尼·史塔克，也不是史蒂文·羅杰斯、托爾或者奇異博士。

In fact, the main character isn’t any one of our superheroes at all, but Thanos.

But the movie isn’t told from Thanos’ point of view. Instead, Infinity War does an excellent job of explaining why this bad guy wants to have all of the Infinity Stones.

但電影并非從滅霸的視角展開，而是極好地解釋了為何這個反派想要收集所有的無限寶石。

Make no mistake, he’s still the enemy. However, Infinity War does such a good job that at a few parts you nod along and say to yourself, “OK Thanos, now I know why you want to do this.”

The biggest surprise about Infinity War is how well the movie flows together. At no point is the film at all confusing. We understand who is fighting whom, and what the risks and rewards are for each fight. It’s not overcrowded, like one might believe, even with so many heroes involved.

“復(fù)聯(lián)3”中最大的驚喜在于劇情發(fā)展相當(dāng)流暢。影片中沒有一處令人感到困惑。我們明白誰正在與誰作戰(zhàn)，每場戰(zhàn)斗會有什么樣的風(fēng)險和回報。就算有諸多超級英雄參演其中，它也并沒有像一些人預(yù)想的那樣過度擁擠。

Science fiction author Douglas Adams’s once wrote, “Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely … big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s (藥店), but that’s just peanuts to space.”

科幻作家道格拉斯·亞當(dāng)斯曾寫道，“宇宙很大。你不會相信它有多么的宏大。我是說，你或許會認(rèn)為去藥店的路途很遠(yuǎn)，但那只是宇宙中的滄海一粟。”

Replace the word “space” with “Avengers: Infinity War”, and you have a reasonable idea of the scope of this movie – in terms of cast, complexity, and box office revenue.

將亞當(dāng)斯所說的“宇宙”換成“復(fù)聯(lián)3”，你就會了解這部電影的規(guī)模在演員陣容、復(fù)雜程度以及票房收入上有多么宏大了。

Indeed, it’s both big and ambitious.
