（二）增補原文句子中所省略的動詞

1）Reading makes a full man; conference (...) a ready man; writing (...) an exact man.

  讀書使人充實，討論使人機智，寫作使人準確。

2）An Eagle and a Fox had long lived together as good neighbors; the Eagle (...) at the summit of a high tree, the Fox (...) in a hole at the foot of it.

      一只鷹和一只狐貍長期友好地住在一起，鷹住在一棵高高的樹頂上，狐貍住在樹下一個洞里。

3）We don't retreat, we never have (...) and never will (...).

      我們不后退，我們從沒有后退過，將來也決不后退。
