　　從歷史上看，漢族沒有統(tǒng)一的宗教。漢族人的神很多，大致可以分為三類。2一類是古代的神，他們都有明確的職責(zé)，如掌管宇宙的玉皇大帝，掌管吃喝和

　　第三類是歷史或傳說中的名人，也包括能工巧匠，如關(guān)帝，也就是三國時期蜀國的大將關(guān)羽，他以忠誠、勇敢、正直而聞名。再就是三國時期的名醫(yī)華佗，還有手藝高超的木匠魯班等等。

　　Historically speaking, Han people did not share a common religion. They worshipped more than one god. The gods they worshipped can be roughly divided into three categories.

　　One category encompasses the gods of ancient times, each of whom had their own power and duty. The Jade Emperor, for instance, took charge of the entire universe, the Kitchen God was in charge of food, drinks, happiness, and misfortunes, the Dragon King of rain and floods, and the South-Pole Star of longevity.

　　Another category is comprised of gods from other religions, such as Tathagata, Maitreya, and Guanyin Bodhisattva from Buddhism, as well as the Supreme Old Lord and General Zhao from Daoism. The Supreme Old Lord, i.e. Laozi, was a celebrated philosopher from the Spring and Autumn Period. General Zhao was worshipped as the God of Wealth.

　　The third category was made up of historical or legendary figures, including some with unique skills. They were from all walks of life, such as Lord Guan, Hua Tuo, and Lu Ban. Lord Guan, also known as the great general Guan Yu of the Three Kingdoms Period, was noted for his loyalty, courage and integrity; Hua Tuo, a contemporary of Guan Yu, was well known for his medical expertise. Luban, a carpenter, was famous for his excellent carpentry.
