　　DAY by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running stream.
　　In big black letters I write my name on them and the name of the village where I live.
　　I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and know who I am.

　　有人說：成長是一種痛。當(dāng)時間的消逝如奔鹿之過隙，鬢角的滄桑越發(fā)濃烈，這種切膚之痛來得尤為真切。兒時的你我，一只紙船就能承載最純的夢想，一捧茉莉即可化作最美的回憶。童年是每個人的天堂，一花一草，一樹一木，雨露陽光，都是喜怒哀樂的理由。如果真的可以選擇，或許多數(shù)人都會選擇活在詩中，不想長大……
　　泰戈爾（Rabindranath Tagore，1861—1941），印度著名詩人、諾貝爾文學(xué)獎得主、藝術(shù)家和社會活動家。他出生于印度一個貴族家庭，從小就受到藝術(shù)熏陶，8歲開始寫詩，12歲開始寫劇本，14歲開始發(fā)表作品。
　　泰戈爾文藝成就斐然，作品包括50多部詩集、12部中長篇小說、100余篇短篇小說、200多個劇本、1500多幅畫、2000多首歌曲等。其中詩集《吉檀迦利》（Gitanjali，1910）、《新月集》（The Crescent Moon，1913）、《飛鳥集》（Stray Birds，1916）等一直深受全世界人民的喜愛。
　　《新月集》是泰戈爾的一部以兒童生活和情趣為主旨的散文詩集，初版于1913年。詩集中天真的孩子與慈愛的母親正是詩人的愛子與賢妻。20世紀初的幾年，是泰戈爾個人生活中最不幸的時期：先是妻子逝世，接著一雙兒女相繼夭亡。正是在悼亡傷逝的悲痛日子里，他懷著對孩子深厚的慈愛，對自己童年的回憶和對“理想世界”的追求，寫出了這部充分體現(xiàn)出詩人對兒童心理深刻理解和善用兒童無邪的眼睛和心靈來觀察自然、感受生活的優(yōu)美詩集。這部兒童詩集充滿了童稚的想象和純真感情，被認為是世界文學(xué)中無與倫比的藝術(shù)珍品，成為印度大中小學(xué)必選的教材，同時也深受我國讀者的鐘愛。
