Chinese researchers have discovered a new compound that can help lower cholesterol levels in the blood.

中國研究人員發(fā)現(xiàn)了一種新的化合物，可以幫助降低血液中的膽固醇水平。

Long-term high levels of cholesterol in the blood can cause atherosclerosis, which may lead to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

血液中如果長期存在高水平的膽固醇，會導(dǎo)致動脈粥樣硬化，進(jìn)而引發(fā)心腦血管疾病。

Statins are the main clinical cholesterol-lowering drugs and are widely used in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. However, statins increase side effects after treatment.

他汀類藥物是目前臨床上主要的降膽固醇藥物，廣泛應(yīng)用于心腦血管疾病的防治。然而，采用他汀類藥物治療會產(chǎn)生副作用。

After a series of compound design and activity analysis, researchers from Wuhan University discovered a new compound that can lower cholesterol.

武漢大學(xué)的科研人員經(jīng)過一系列化合物設(shè)計、優(yōu)化和活性分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)了這種可以降低膽固醇的新化合物。

The compound Cmpd 81 reduced cholesterol levels as well as the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in mice with hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis. When this compound is combined with statins, it can further lower cholesterol levels.

這一化合物在高膽固醇血癥和動脈粥樣硬化小鼠模型中試驗時，可降低膽固醇水平和減少動脈粥樣硬化斑塊的形成。這一化合物和他汀類藥物聯(lián)合應(yīng)用時，可進(jìn)一步降低膽固醇水平。

The research has broad application prospects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The screening system in the research as well as the compound have been put in for patent applications.

這一研究成果在心腦血管疾病的治療中具有廣闊的應(yīng)用前景。目前，此項研究相關(guān)的篩選系統(tǒng)和化合物均已申請專利。

The research was published in the journal Nature Communications.

這項最新研究成果發(fā)表在《自然通訊》期刊上。
