Avast Stubb, cried Starbuck, "let the Typhoon sing, and strike his harp here in our rigging; but if thou art a brave man thou wilt hold thy peace."

In the stern-sheets, man; where he is wont to stand — his stand-point is stove, man! Now jump overboard, and sing away, if thou must!
聽著！斯達(dá)巴克抓著斯塔布的肩膀，叫道，手指著上風(fēng)的船頭；"你可注意到大風(fēng)是從東邊來的，是從亞哈要去找莫比－迪克的航線那邊來的？是從他今天午刻叫轉(zhuǎn)向的航線那邊來的嘛？現(xiàn)在你留心一下那邊他的小艇吧！漏洞在什么地方！就在艇尾座的地方呀，朋友；那也就是他經(jīng)常站著的地方——他的撐腳的地方都穿啦，朋友！所以，如果你一定要唱的話，就跳到海里，去唱個(gè)痛快吧！"
