comprise同include的比較：

表示出什么問題時，comprise常表示整體內(nèi)容出錯，而include只是其中的一個被允許或是出現(xiàn)的小部分出錯。

用include時，一般不會假設(shè)它包含了全部或者時大部分的內(nèi)容，但是用comprise時，確認(rèn)列表上的全部的信息都會被包含進(jìn)去。

contain, include, embrace, involve, comprehend, hold, comprise

這些動詞均含有“包括，包含”之意。

contain普通用詞，所涉及的物體常常是其組成部分或內(nèi)容。強(qiáng)調(diào)包容關(guān)系。既可指具體有形的東西，也可指抽象無形的東西。

include普通用詞，指一整體包含著各獨(dú)立的部分，也指某東西包含另一東西的某一部分。

embrace正式用詞，指把某事物納入整個之中。

involve指包含因整體的性質(zhì)決定的成分或結(jié)果。所包括的往往是無形的，不可觸知的東西，多用作引申。

comprehend正式用詞，指包含在整體范圍以內(nèi)。

hold常和contain換用。指能夠容納或有足夠的容納量。強(qiáng)調(diào)包容能力。

comprise書面用詞，暗指一個整體包括不同部分所組成，可與include交換使用。

【語法用法】

pretty作形容詞時，可以是一個帶有諷刺含義的形容詞。

He has made a pretty mess of the job.

他把自己的工作弄得真是夠亂的。

pretty也作副詞，但只可以修飾其他形容詞或副詞，表示“頗…”。絕不能修飾動詞，否則副詞形勢應(yīng)該是prettily。如在sit pretty(處于有利形勢)的用法中，pretty是表語，沒有修飾動詞;

與其他表示“頗”的副詞的區(qū)別：

fair正式用詞，多用于文學(xué)中，形容女子和兒童，側(cè)重外表的美。

handsome多用于描寫男性的英俊瀟灑。有時也形容女人，指其五官端正，體態(tài)秀麗。

lovely普通用詞，描寫人時，主要指女人和小孩的相貌，語氣不如beautiful強(qiáng)。

pretty普通用詞，語氣比beautiful弱，多用于描寫婦女、兒童以及小巧玲瓏，精美可愛之物。
