The French authorities said the fate of the suspected ring leader of last week's deadly attacks in Paris remains unknown following a police raid earlier on Wednesday. They are tryng to identify the remains of at least two people who were killed in the operation. From Paris, Tom Barrage.

The Paris Prosecutor said a new team of terrorists had been neutralized before they could launch another attack. 8 people were arrested by police. But not Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Belgium-born militant who is previously thought to have been in Syria. Unconfirmed reports in the United States suggested he may have been killed during the raid. What is clear is that French intelligence received a tip on Monday that Abaaoud might be in France. And it was this that led them to the flat.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud was already known to the authorities even before the Friday's attacks in which 129 people were killed. From Belgium, Journey Diamond reports.

Scientists have identified bacteria in people and livestock in China that is highly resistant to a last-result class of anti-biotics. They have described the discovery as extremely worrying. Professor Tim War of Chicadi Universy, was involved in the research.

“The difference between this new type of resistance is that it is mobile and that means it can transfer from one bug to another. So we can know that with individual bugs that cause infection that we get total resistance anyway. But the difference with this is that the bacteria can pass on from one organ to another. And the resistance can then spread.
