2.steal the thunder：搶某人風(fēng)頭

steal the thunder直譯為“偷了某人的雷聲”，最初的意思是“偷了某人的想法”。這個(gè)短語(yǔ)的來(lái)歷跟雷聲有關(guān)。

e.g.: I kept quiet about my pregnancy because Cathy was getting married, and I didn't want tosteal her thunder.
