第二十章狀語 形容詞作狀語

　　1.形容詞也和分詞一樣，有時可單獨或引起短語作狀語，表示：

　　l )原因：

　　As much interested, he agreed to give it a try .

　　他很感興趣，同意試一試。

　　Afraid of being cut off, th ey lost no time in turning back ?

　　由于害怕被切斷，他們趕緊退了回去。

　　2 )動作發(fā)生的情況或方式：

　　Over joyed, she dashed out of the house .

　　她非常高興，急步跑出屋來。

　　Flushed and breathless, she bounded through the gate .

　　她滿臉通紅氣喘吁吁，從大門跑了進來。

　　She emerged from the conflict victorious .

　　她在這次沖突中成了勝利者。

　　3 )時間等：

　　Enthusiastic, they are quite cooperative.

　　熱心的時候他們是很合作的。

　　有時可和when 連用：

　　often she would weep when alone.

　　她一個人待著時常常腰泣?

　　If you lie upon roses when young, you'll lie upon thorns when old .

　　如果年輕時躺在玫瑰花上，年老時你會躺在刺上。(諺)

　　2.形容詞作狀語通常說明主語的情況，但有時也可能說明賓語的情況：

　　He pulled his belt tight.

　　他勒緊褲帶。

　　She pushed the door open.

　　她把門推開。

　　He writes his characters large.

　　他字寫得很大。

　　We drink it hot.

　　我們喝熱的。

　　這類句子也可改為被動語態(tài)：

　　The door was pushed open.

　　門被推開了。

　　They are eaten raw.

　　它們是生吃的。
