第二十章狀語 分詞做狀語

　　1 .現(xiàn)在分詞(短語)作狀語可以表示：

　　l )行為方式或伴隨發(fā)生的情況：

　　They had to work standing. 他們得站著干活。

　　2 )時(shí)間：

　　Learning of the uprising, he returned to his country.

　　聽到起義的消息他回到國(guó)內(nèi)。

　　Taking a deep breath, he dived into the water.

　　他深深吸了一口氣跳進(jìn)水里。

　　3 )原因：

　　Not knowing your address, I couldn't get in touch with you.

　　由于不知道你的地址，我無法和你聯(lián)系。

　　Hving lost her job, she had to look for another one.

　　由十失了業(yè)，私不得不另找工作。

　　2 .過去分詞(短語)也可用作狀語，表示：

　　l )動(dòng)作發(fā)生時(shí)的背景或情況：

　　Inspired by his example, hundreds of others volunteered to join us.

　　在他的帶動(dòng)下，成百上千的人都志愿參加了我們的工作。

　　Encouraged by Master Meng, I checked on the machine's operation record .

　　在孟師傅的鼓勵(lì)下，我查看了一下機(jī)器的操作記錄。

　　2 )原因：

　　Delighted, the girls thought up many good ideas.

　　一高興姑娘們想出許多的好主意。

　　Moved by what he had said, I was at loss what to say ?

　　聽了他的話我很感動(dòng)，不知說什么好。

　　3 )時(shí)間等：

　　Driven beyond endurance, Tom ran away from the plantation.

　　湯姆忍無可忍逃離了種植園。

　　Taken out of context, the sentence is ambiguous,

　　脫離了上下文這個(gè)句子的意思變得模糊不清了。
