第十四章 介詞 on 的用法

　　1. on:

　　l)在(一平面上):

　　Tim is sitting with Sara on a bench.

　　蒂姆和莎拉坐在一條長(zhǎng)凳上。

　　He pinned the badge on his coat.

　　他把徽章別在大衣上。

　　They traveled down the river on a wooden raft.

　　他們乘坐木筏順江流而下。

　　2)在(一條線上):

　　They are still sitting on the fence.

　　他們?nèi)猿烛T墻的態(tài)度。

　　He comes from a small city on the Yangtze River.

　　他來(lái)自長(zhǎng)江邊上的一座小城。

　　Our apartment is on 6th Avenue.

　　我們的住房在第六大道上。

　　3)在(某一天，某天早上等):

　　They arrived in Shanghai on May 20.

　　他們五月二十日到達(dá)上海。

　　On Sunday morning，he gets up late.

　　星期天早上他起來(lái)很晚。

　　On the weekend，John doesn’t go to work.

　　周末約翰不上班。

　　4)在(剛……)的時(shí)候：

　　On reaching the city he called up Julie.

　　一到城里他就給朱莉打了電話。

　　I’11 write to him on hearing from you.

　　一接到你的信我就給他寫信。

　　On his return he told us about the meeting.

　　他一回來(lái)就給我們談了會(huì)議的情況。

　　5)(on和come，go等動(dòng)詞連用)表示目的：

　　She has been away on a long trip.

　　她出去做了一次長(zhǎng)途旅行。

　　They went to Paris on a mission.

　　他們到巴黎去執(zhí)行一項(xiàng)任務(wù)。

　　I’ve come here on business.

　　我是有公事來(lái)的。

　　6)關(guān)于(意思接近about):

　　He made a speech on the current situation.

　　他做了一個(gè)關(guān)于當(dāng)前形勢(shì)的報(bào)告。

　　They asked him to write on the Irish question

　　他們請(qǐng)求他寫一寫愛爾蘭的問題。

　　You’re wrong on all these issues.

　　在這些問題上你的看法都錯(cuò)了。

　　7) (on和一些名詞連用作表語(yǔ))表示狀態(tài)活動(dòng)等：

　　The workers are on strike again.

　　工人們又罷上了。

　　He was on night shift that week.

　　那星期他上夜班。

　　We should be on guard against such people.

　　我們應(yīng)警惕這種人。
