第十四章 介詞 off 的用法

　　1. off:

　　1)從(一平面上)下面：

　　I fell off my bike yesterday.

　　我昨天白行車上摔了下來(lái)。

　　Where did you get off the subway?

　　你在哪兒下地鐵的?

　　Let's take the picture off the wall.

　　咱們把畫從墻上取下來(lái)吧。

　　2)離……(不遠(yuǎn)的地方)：

　　The island is about 100 miles off the coast.

　　這座島高海岸約一百英里。

　　They lived in a little house off Brook Road.

　　他住在離布魯克路不遠(yuǎn)的一棟小房子內(nèi)。

　　The ship sank a mile off Langness.

　　船在高蘭涅斯一英里處沉沒(méi)。

　　3)不在……上面：

　　Duck and green peas is now off the menu.

　　鴨子配豌豆現(xiàn)在不在菜單上了。

　　It will be a good thing when those old cars are off the road.

　　那些老爺車不在馬路上跑了是一件好事情。

　　4)脫離，偏離：

　　The ship was blown off (her) course.

　　那艘船被風(fēng)吹得偏離了航道。

　　Half of what he said was off the subject.

　　他說(shuō)的話有一半偏離了正題。

　　The speaker kept wandering off the point.

　　演講人不斷偏離褥題。

　　5)用于某些成語(yǔ)：

　　He is off cigarettes.

　　他戒煙了。

　　She comes off duty at 5.

　　她五點(diǎn)鐘下班。

　　We shouldn't be off guard.

　　我們不能喪失警惕。

　　He must be off his head.

　　他準(zhǔn)是發(fā)瘋了。

　　All this is off the record.

　　這一切都不能發(fā)表。

　　He took ten pence off the price.

　　他減價(jià)十便士。
