第十四章 介詞 below, beside 和besides 的用法

　　1. below:

　　l)在……下面：

　　The lake is 400 metres below sea level.

　　湖面在海平面下400 米處。

　　Water was found ten feet below the surface.

　　在地面下十英尺處找到了水。

　　The temperature is 15℃ below zero.

　　氣溫是攝氏零下十五度。

　　2)比……低，不到：

　　He was below her in intelligence.

　　他的智力比她低。

　　He can't be much below sixty.

　　他離六十(歲)不會很遠(yuǎn)。

　　The cost is below ￡20.

　　花費還不到20 鎊。

　　2. beside:

　　l)在……旁邊：

　　Put the teapot beside the milk jug.

　　把茶壺放在牛奶罐旁邊。

　　There's room beside me.

　　我旁邊還有空。

　　She drew up a chair beside the bed.

　　她把一張椅子拉到床邊。

　　2)和……相比：

　　You are small beside your brother.

　　和你哥哥相比你個麒是小的。

　　My work is poor beside yours.

　　我的瓢品和你的相比就太差了。

　　I felt so weak and useless beside them.

　　和他們相比我感到自己脆弱無用。

　　3)用于某些成語：

　　He was beside himself with joy.

　　他高興得不得了。

　　That’s all beside the point.

　　這都無關(guān)緊要。

　　3.besides的用法和例句(除去，除了):

　　There were six members on the committee besides him.

　　除了他還有六位委員。

　　What other courses do you take besides English?

　　除了英語你還學(xué)什么別的課程?

　　What else did you do besides writing the letter?

　　除了寫那封信你還千了什么?

　　Besides your coat, you should bring your umbrella.
