Once upon a time there was a man named George
很久以前有一個叫喬治的人
George was a really good fighter, and he liked to helppeople

And there was a town where people couldn’t get water unless they went past a dragon

They fed the dragon all the sheep they had so they could get past it to get water

And when they ran out of sheep, they had to start giving the dragon people

And everyone had their names in a lottery, and every day they would choose one person atrandom

And one day, the princess’ name was chosen

The king did not want her to die, but he could not stop it

And George rode into town that day, and promised he would save her

Hi killed the dragon, and became known as Saint George of the Dragon

He is a very important person in England
他在英格蘭是一個很重要的人物
And they decided to use his name when they started fighting, in battle

So when people from England rode into battle, for a long time

they would cry, “For Harry, England, and St. George!”

And that’s how the slang, “By George,” was started

So basically, saying, “By George!” It kind of means <Tian a> or “My God!”

But it sounds a little bit better. Some people, myself included, don’t feel very comfortable saying“God.”

IF you want to use the words “By George,”

it can be used to express excitement, astonishment, or saying “of course!”

She’s famous for her talk show.

She’s also been an actress, a producer, and she’s very giving to charity

Her show was shown all across America between 1986 and 2011

and for a while, she was the only black billionaire in the whole world

The kind of talk show she created was a tabloid talk show

And these kinds of shows are where people tell secrets

They make confessions, and are often part of group therapy, where other people try to fixtheir problems, right there, on TV

She was not the first person to do this kind of talk show, but she was the one who made itfamous.

In the mid-1990’s, she reinvented her show with a focus on literature, self-improvement, andspirituality

She hosted a rare interview in 1993 with Michael Jackson

and it became the 4th most viewed event in American television history

Sentence Structure. Okay So…today we have an interesting one.
Here is an example: “It doesn’t matter whether it’s rain or shine. The parade will happen”
今天的每日句型是 “不管下雨還是晴天,這個游行都會開始”
But the sentence structure means: “it doesn’t matter whether A or B happens , C will happen.”
句型的意思是 “不管A或B是否發(fā)生,C都會發(fā)生”
So let’s try making a sentence with that
讓我們嘗試用它來造個句
“It doesn’t matter if you use peanut oil or soybean oil., This dish will be delicious. ”
“無論你用花生油還是豆油,它都會很美味”
That’s our sentence structure for today!
