take wings 直譯就是：“插上翅膀”，漢語(yǔ)中也有為夢(mèng)想插上翅膀這樣的表達(dá)，意思是放飛自己的夢(mèng)想，因?yàn)椴迳铣岚驂?mèng)想就可以起飛翱翔了。所以這個(gè)習(xí)語(yǔ)的正確意思是：“起飛，成為現(xiàn)實(shí)”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說"I hope your idea takes wings."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"I hope your idea will be fulfilled."、"I hope your dream will come true."。
