我們就開門見山吧。
cut to the chase 這個(gè)習(xí)慣用語來源于好萊塢電影，許多電影里最精彩的片段都是跟蹤追擊的場(chǎng)面，導(dǎo)演喊這句話就是讓把鏡頭切換到追蹤場(chǎng)面，換句話說就是進(jìn)行最重要的攝制工作。這個(gè)短語也廣泛應(yīng)用在商界，意思是：“言歸正傳，開門見山，直奔主題”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說"let's cut to the chase."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"let's come straight to the point."、"Don't beat about the bush."。
情景對(duì)白：
Shirley: We have reached an agreement on everything. But why do you refuse to sign the contract now?
