他們只不過是說說而已。

speak with tongue in cheek直譯過來就是：“面頰上帶著微笑說”，這個(gè)短語的正確意思是：“說說而已，假心假意地說”。因此，當(dāng)美國人說"They just speak with tongue in cheek."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"They are just saying that."、"They just talk the talk."、"They just pay lip service."。
