　　be given the pink slip直譯過來就是：“被給予一張粉紅色紙片”，由于解雇通知多用粉紅色復(fù)寫本，所以這個短語的正確意思是：“被解雇”。因此，當(dāng)美國人說"Concentrate on your job, or you'll be given the pink slip."時，他/她要表達的意思就是："You should work hard, or you will get fired."、"Focus on your job, or you might be kicked out."。
