肯定句中any后可接復(fù)數(shù)名詞嗎

有讀者朋友在“問答中心”問了這樣一道題（見www.hxen.com/guestbook/Guest_Reply.asp?TopicID=999）：

A.source                   B. sources

答案是選A還是B呢？個人認(rèn)為：最好填 source，但填 sources 也可以（即復(fù)數(shù)不如單數(shù)常見）。

根據(jù)英語語法，在肯定句中，表示“任何”的any 后通常接單數(shù)名詞（單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞或不可數(shù)名詞）。如：

You can get it at any shop. 你可以在任何一家商店買到它。

Any car must be insured.  任何汽車都必須投保。

She could hold her own in any drinking session. 在任何酒會上，她可與他人相匹敵。

In Britain, any information is seen as a commodity. 在英國，任何信息都被看作商品。

Making film of any length was very difficult. 那時拍攝任何長度的電影都是困難的。

Admission to any college or university is by examination. 進入任何學(xué)院或大學(xué)都要通過考試。

Any book about riding will tell you how to saddle a horse. 任何有關(guān)騎術(shù)的書都會告訴你怎樣裝馬鞍。

Any dictionary will give you the meaning of these words. 只要是本詞典，就會給出這些詞的詞義。

Ask any doctor—they’II all tell you that alcohol is a poison. 你可以去問任何一位大夫，他們都會告訴你酒精是有毒的。

但在實際運用中，在肯定句中表示“任何”的any 后有時也接復(fù)數(shù)名詞，如以下兩句均摘自國外語法著作：

The people will report to you before making any major decisions. 這些人在作出任何重大決定前都會向你報告。

Your doctor or surgeon will answer any questions you may have. 你的內(nèi)科或外科醫(yī)生會回答你可能提出的任何問題。

在肯定句中，表示“任何”的any 后接單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞，表示“任何一個”；后接復(fù)數(shù)名詞，表示“任何的”（并不強調(diào)單個的個體）。
