16. College Students Going to Rural Areas 去邊遠地區(qū)的學生
There is a common phenomenon in recent years, more and more students are willing to go to some rural areas to put their knowledge into practical use. In 1993, the number of students going to rural areas was only 5% of the total number of graduates, however, five years later, that percentage has more than doubled.
最近幾年有一個普遍現象，那就是越來越多的學生愿意到邊遠地區(qū)工作，只要他們能夠學以致用。1993年，畢業(yè)生中只有5%的同學愿意去這些地區(qū)，而五年以后，該比例已是原來的兩倍。
Upon thinking about the reasons for this change, we may find some interesting things. First of all, with the development of society, college students have changed their way of thinking. They are becoming more practical. If they can get a better paid job and if they are more likely to have a nice future in the rural areas, they will no longer stick to the ideal of becoming a citizen in big cities. On the other hand, the government also advocates the choice of working in the rural areas, which encourages more young students to leave the big cities.
在考慮這些變化的原因時，我們能看到一些有趣的事情。首先，隨著社會的發(fā)展，大學畢業(yè)生已經改變了他們的思維方式。他們變得更加實際。如果他們在邊遠地區(qū)能找到一份高薪工作，如果他們會擁有美好前程，他們不再堅持要成為大城市居民的幻想。另一方面，政府也大力提倡學子從大城市中走出去。
With the development of a balanced economy, big cities will gradually lessen their attraction for the college graduates.
隨著經濟的平衡發(fā)展，大城市逐漸會失去對畢業(yè)生的吸引。
