Peter’sideas have become a part of P&G. His basic rulewas the importance of serving consumers. And he likes to say the purpose of a business is tocreate and serve a customer clean and simple. At P&G we have translated this principleinto respect for the consumer as boss. Consumer-driven strategy, innovation and leadershipare corner stones of P&G success and reflection of the influence Peter has had on me andon our company. The greatest lesson I took away is the over- arching importance of humanity.Peter believed in human possibilities and he was a force for good in world society.
