I am an art student and I paint a lot of pictures.Many people pretend that they understand modernart. They always tell you what a picture is ‘about'. Ofcourse, many pictures are not 'about' anything. Theyarejust pretty patterns. We like them in the sameway that we like pretty curtain material. I think thatyoung children often appreciate modern picturesbetter than anyone else. They notice more. My sisteris only seven, but she always tells me whether my pictures are good or not. She came intomyroomyesterday.'What are you doing?' she asked.‘I'm hanging this picture on the wall,' Ianswered. ‘It'sanew one. Do you likeit?'She looked at it critically for a moment. 'It's allright,' she said, 'but isn't it upside down?'I looked at it again. She was right! It was!

13. ‘It's a new one. Do you like it ?'

“是幅新作品，你喜歡嗎? ”

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) one作代詞，避免重復(fù)上面提到的名詞：

I forgot to bring a pen. Could you lend me one? 我忘記帶鋼筆了，你能借我一支嗎?

14. She looked at it critically for a moment.

她用挑剔的目光看了一會(huì)兒。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) critically為副詞，在句中作狀語(yǔ)。

15.‘It’s all right,’ she said, ‘but isn’t it upside down ?’

“還可以吧”她說(shuō)，“不過(guò)，是不是掛倒了? ”

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) all right及其合成形容詞的主要用法：

1) all-right令人滿(mǎn)意的，良好的：

an all-right fellow 一個(gè)不錯(cuò)的家伙;an all-right movie 一部令人滿(mǎn)意的影片

2) all right正確的：

Your answers are all right.你的答案是正確的。

3) all right毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)：

It’s cold，all right.毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)，天很冷。

16. I looked at it again. She was right! It was!

我再次看了看畫(huà)。她說(shuō)對(duì)了!是掛倒了!

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) I looked at it again = I looked at it once more.我再次看了看畫(huà)。
