I entered the hotel manager's office and sat down. Ihad just lost $50 and I felt very upset.‘I left themoney in my room,' I said,‘and it's not there now.'The manager was sympathetic, but he could donothing. ‘Everyone's losing money these days,' hesaid. He started to complain about this wickedworld but was interrupted by a knock at the door.A girl came in and put an envelope on his desk.Itcontained $50. ‘I found this outside this gentleman's room,' she said. ‘Well,' I said tothe manager, ‘there is still some honesty in this world!'

一個(gè)女孩走了進(jìn)來(lái)，把一個(gè)信封放在他的桌子上。

里面裝著50英鎊。“這是我在這位先生的房門外撿到的，”她說(shuō)。
