課文內容：

After I had had lunch at a village inn, I looked for mybag. I had left it on a chair beside the door and nowit wasn't there ! As I was looking for it, the inn-keeper came in. ‘Did you have a good meal ' heasked. ‘Yes, thank you,' I answered, ‘but I can't paythe bill. I haven't got my bag.' The inn-keeper smiledand immediately went out. In a few minutes hereturned with my bag and gave it back to me. ‘I'm very sorry,' he said.‘ My dog had taken it into the garden. He often does this.'

7.In a few minutes he returned with my bag and gave it back to me.

一會兒工夫他帶著我的包回來了，把包還給了我。

語言點1 a few minutes不可譯為“一些時間”，而應譯為“很短的幾分鐘”、“片刻”

語言點2 give sth. back = return sth.意思是“返還某物”

When do you give the money back to me?你何時把錢還給我?

8.‘I'm very sorry,' he said .

“真是抱歉，”他說。

語言點(口語) I am so sorry. /I am really sorry.實在對不起。

(書面語) I apologized / apologised to sb. for sth. / doing sth.我因 ……向……道歉。

9.‘My dog had taken it into the garden. He often does this.’

“我的狗把它弄到花園里去了，他經常干這種事!”

語言點 此外用he表示“狗”，是擬人化的表達。
