課文內(nèi)容：

The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworthwould see me. I felt very nervous when I wentinto his office. He did not look up from his deskwhen I entered. After I had sat down, he said thatbusiness was very bad. He told me that the firmcould not afford to pay such large salaries. Twentypeople had already left. I knew that my turn hadcome. ‘Mr. Harmsworth,' I said in a weak voice. ‘Don't interrupt,' he Said. Then he smiled and told me I would receive an extra &100 ayear!

本文語(yǔ)法：直接引語(yǔ)和間接引語(yǔ)

語(yǔ)法歸納：直接引語(yǔ)就是直接引用別人的話，并把它放在引號(hào)內(nèi);間接引語(yǔ)就是用自己的話轉(zhuǎn) 述別人的話，不加引號(hào)。直接引語(yǔ)變間接引語(yǔ)時(shí)需要注意相應(yīng)人稱、時(shí)態(tài)變化。

1)陳述句變化：常用say/tell+that連接

直接引語(yǔ)：“I never do anything on Sundays,” he said.他說(shuō):“我星期日什么事都不做。”

間接引語(yǔ)：He said that he never did anything on Sundays.

2)—般疑問(wèn)句變化：常用whether/if連接

直接引語(yǔ)：My mother said to me，“Are you hungry?” 母親對(duì)我說(shuō)：“你俄嗎?”

間接引語(yǔ)：My mother asked me whether I was hungry.

3)特殊疑問(wèn)句變化：常用疑問(wèn)代詞或疑問(wèn)副詞連接

直接引語(yǔ)：The teacher asked,”Who will give this boy a help?”老師問(wèn)道：“誰(shuí)愿意幫助這個(gè)男孩?”

間接引語(yǔ)：The teacher asked who would give this boy a help.

精講筆記：

1.The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworth would see me.

秘書(shū)告訴我說(shuō)哈姆斯沃斯先生要見(jiàn)我。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 此句told me that為典型的間接引語(yǔ)表達(dá)形式。

My manager told me that business was quite good.我的經(jīng)理告訴我生意好極了。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 told me that..., that后為告訴我的內(nèi)容，為賓語(yǔ)從句，間接賓語(yǔ)。

2.I felt very nervous when I went into his office.

我走進(jìn)他的辦公室時(shí)感到非常緊張。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 比較學(xué)習(xí)：nervous指對(duì)正在發(fā)生的事感到緊張;worry指對(duì)將要發(fā)生的事情感到擔(dān)心。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 felt是feel的過(guò)去式，feel為半連系動(dòng)詞，后常加形容詞作表語(yǔ)，如： feel angry感到生氣;feelhot感到熱;fal tired感到累

常用的半系動(dòng)詞：feel, get, taste, smell, sound, turn, seem 等。例如：sound good聽(tīng)起來(lái)不嫌;taste sweet嘗起來(lái)甜;smell terrible聞起來(lái)惡心

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)3 比較學(xué)習(xí)：office辦公室(上班的工作地點(diǎn));study書(shū)房(家里的一間房)

3.He did not look up from his desk when I entered.

當(dāng)我進(jìn)去的時(shí)候，他甚至都沒(méi)有抬頭看我一眼。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 1) look up向上看，抬頭;2)look down向下看，低頭;3 ) look up and down上下打量，瞧不起

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 比較學(xué)習(xí)：desk桌子，指辦公桌或?qū)懽肿?table桌子，飯桌或麻將桌。
