Lesson 13 The Greenwood Boys

課文內(nèi)容：

The Greenwood Boys are a group of popularsingers. At present, they are visiting all parts of thecountry. They will be arriving here tomorrow. Theywill be coming by train and most of the youngpeople in the town will be meeting them at thestation. Tomorrow evening they will be singingat the Workers' Club. The Greenwood Boys willbe staying for five days. During this time, they willgive five performances. As usual, the police will have a difficult time. They will be trying to keeporder. It is always the same on these occasions.

4.They will be coming by train and most of the young people in the town will bemeeting them at the station.

他們將乘坐火車(chē)來(lái)，鎮(zhèn)上的大多數(shù)年輕人會(huì)到車(chē)站去歡迎他們。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 will be coming by train乘火車(chē)來(lái)，by train在此作方式狀語(yǔ)。(by +交通工具的用法)

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 1) most of the +名詞=most +名詞：

most of the young people = most young people 大多數(shù)年輕人

most of the elders = most elders 大多數(shù)年長(zhǎng)的人

2) the young people = the youth 年輕人

5.Tomorrow evening they will be singing at the Workers' Club.

明天晚上他們將在工人俱樂(lè)部演出。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 the Workers’ Club工人倶樂(lè)部;the Workers’ Stadium工人體育場(chǎng)

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 總結(jié)名詞所有格：

1)一般情況下直接加“s” : an hour’s drive開(kāi)車(chē)一個(gè)小時(shí);a mile’s distance 一英里的距離

2)以-s結(jié)尾的復(fù)數(shù)加“’”; 不規(guī)則復(fù)數(shù)名詞后加“’”: ten hours’ walk走10小時(shí)的路程; children’s mother孩子們的母親

3)以-s結(jié)尾的單數(shù)人名，一般應(yīng)加“’s”，在筆語(yǔ)中也有只加“’”的情況：Dickens’ novels 狄更斯的小說(shuō);Bates’ voice貝茨的聲音

6.The Greenwood Boys will be staying for five days.

綠林少年組合將在我們這兒逗留五天。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) stay一詞常表示“停留，保持”：stay single保持單身;stay at home待在家里;stay overnight住一夜
