“當(dāng)然不是。”他臉上寫滿了惱人的憤憤不平。“我告訴過(guò)你我還沒(méi)問(wèn)完，不是嗎?”
"What more is there?"
“還有什么?”
"You'll find out tomorrow." He reached across toopen my door for me, and his sudden proximity sent my heart into frenzied palpitations.
“明天你就知道了。”他伸出手要替我開(kāi)門，而他的突然接近讓我的心陷入了瘋狂的悸動(dòng)。
But his hand froze on the handle.
但是他的手卻在把手上停住了。
"Not good," he muttered.
“這可不太好。”他喃喃自語(yǔ)道。
"What is it?" I was surprised to see that his jaw was clenched, his eyes disturbed.
“那是什么?”我驚訝地看到，他的下巴繃緊了，眼里寫滿了困擾。
He glanced at me for a brief second. "Another complication," he said glumly.
他只看了我短短的一秒鐘。“另一個(gè)復(fù)雜的情形。”他悶悶不樂(lè)地說(shuō)道。
He flung the door open in one swift movement, and then moved, almost cringed, swiftly awayfrom me.
他動(dòng)作迅速地把門推開(kāi)，然后移開(kāi)身子，幾乎是退縮著，飛快地遠(yuǎn)離我。
The flash of headlights through the rain caught my attention as a dark car pulled up to the curbjust a few feet away, facing us.
汽車前燈的光穿透過(guò)雨幕吸引了我的注意，一輛黑色的車子向著我們開(kāi)過(guò)來(lái)，只有幾英尺遠(yuǎn)了。
"Charlie's around the corner," he warned, staring through the downpour at the other vehicle.
“查理就要來(lái)了。”他警告道，透過(guò)傾盆大雨注視著那輛車。
I hopped out at once, despite my confusion and curiosity. The rain was louder as it glanced offmy jacket.
我立刻跳下車，無(wú)暇顧及自己的混亂和好奇。雨水掠過(guò)我的夾克，聲音愈發(fā)響亮了。
I tried to make out the shapes in the front seat of the other car, but it was too dark. I couldsee Edward illuminated in the glare of the new car's headlights; he was still staring ahead, hisgaze locked on something or someone I couldn't see. His expression was a strange mix offrustration and defiance.
我試圖認(rèn)出坐在那輛車的前座里的人，但天太黑了。我看見(jiàn)愛(ài)德華被那輛新來(lái)的車的前燈怒視著，全身都被照亮了。他依然注視著前方，他的目光緊鎖在我看不見(jiàn)的某物或某人上。他的神情非常古怪，混合著挫敗與挑釁。
Then he revved the engine, and the tires squealed against the wet pavement. The Volvo wasout of sight in seconds.
然后他發(fā)動(dòng)了引擎，輪胎蹭著潮濕的公路發(fā)出尖銳的聲音。幾秒種后那輛沃爾沃就看不見(jiàn)了。
