感謝上帝
A 4-year-old boy was asked to return thanks beforeThanksgiving dinner. The family members bowed theirheads in expectation.
感恩節(jié)時(shí),一個(gè)4歲的小男孩要做餐前感恩祈禱。全家人低著頭,期待著。
He began his prayer, thanking the Lord for all hisfriends, naming them one by one.
他開(kāi)始禱告,他代朋友們對(duì)上帝感恩,并挨個(gè)提到他們的名字。
Then he thanked the Lord for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all hisanuts and uncles.
然后,他代媽媽、爸爸、兄弟姐妹、爺爺、奶奶,還有所有的叔叔、阿姨對(duì)上帝感恩。
Then he began to thank the Lord for the food. He gave thanks for the turkey, the dressing,the fruit salad, the cranberry sauce, the pies, the cakes, even the Cool Whip.
然后,他感謝上帝賜予他的食物,從火腿、火雞料焰,到水果沙拉、橘醬,各種點(diǎn)心、蛋糕,甚至冰蛋奶水果,一一列舉。
Then he paused, and everyone waited--and waited.
然后,他停了下來(lái),大家都等著聽(tīng)他繼續(xù),等啊等。
After a long silence, the young fellow looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank the Lordfor the broccoli, won't He know that I'm lying?"
好久之后,小伙子抬起頭看著媽媽問(wèn)道:“如果我感謝上帝賜予我花椰菜,上帝會(huì)不會(huì)知道我在說(shuō)謊?”
