習(xí)語(yǔ)：a bachelor girl

講解：Bachelor通常是指“未婚男子”，即“單身漢”，但是與girl連用時(shí)就是指“未婚女人”了，此語(yǔ)特指“不依靠別人，自己維持生活的女人”。目前，在英美國(guó)家，指“未婚職業(yè)婦女”，與漢語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)中的“女強(qiáng)人”有相似之處。

knock-out 非常漂亮引人注目的人(用來(lái)指女性)

devote to 把 ... 獻(xiàn)于, 把 ... 用于

Eg. The time he can spare from the adornment of his person he devote to the neglect of his duty.

他把花在打扮上的時(shí)間省下來(lái)，卻用到了玩忽職守上去。

Quite the other way round. 完全相反。

這是個(gè)省略句。完整的句子為——It is the other way round. 這正好想法。加上quite，就是完全相反。
