白宮稱美國已開始從敘利亞撤軍

The Trump administration says US troops are being withdrawn from Syria, after the president said the Islamic State (IS) group had been "defeated".

美國總統(tǒng)特朗普宣稱極端組織“伊斯蘭國”已被“擊敗”之后，美國政府表示已開始撤回駐敘美軍。

The Pentagon said it was transitioning to the "next phase of the campaign" but did not give details.

美國國防部表示該行動(dòng)正進(jìn)入“下一階段”，但沒有透露細(xì)節(jié)。

白宮發(fā)言人桑德斯發(fā)表聲明說：

Five years ago, Isis was a very powerful and dangerous force in the Middle East, and now the United States has defeated the territorial caliphate.

五年前，“伊斯蘭國”是中東地區(qū)一支非常強(qiáng)大而危險(xiǎn)的勢(shì)力，如今美國已擊敗控制了一定區(qū)域的“哈里發(fā)國”。

We have started returning United States troops home as we transition to the next phase of this campaign.

隨著對(duì)“伊斯蘭國”的打擊行動(dòng)進(jìn)入下一階段，美國已開始撤回駐敘美軍。

The US and its allies stood ready to re-engage at all levels to defend American interests whenever necessary, and we will continue to work together to deny radical Islamist terrorists territory, funding, support and any means of infiltrating our borders.

美國和盟國仍將隨時(shí)根據(jù)需要采取行動(dòng)捍衛(wèi)美國的利益。美國與盟國將繼續(xù)攜手阻止恐怖分子獲得土地、資金和支持，并阻止其進(jìn)入美國或盟國境內(nèi)。

“撤軍”最常用的表達(dá)就是withdraw troops from...或者被動(dòng)形式的troops are withdrawn from...當(dāng)然，也可以用return/bring troops home這種更加口語化的表達(dá)，比如：President Trump said it was time to bring troops home after their "historic victories".

Withdraw這個(gè)詞除了“撤退、撤回”的意思之外，還有“(從銀行)取(錢)”的意思，比如：I need to withdraw some money before leaving for Shanghai.(出發(fā)去上海之前，我得先取點(diǎn)錢。)

目前，駐敘利亞美軍士兵超過2000人。路透社援引白宮一位不愿透露姓名的官員稱，美國宣布開始自敘利亞撤軍后，國務(wù)院會(huì)在24小時(shí)內(nèi)，將所有人員撤離敘利亞(all US State Department personnel are being evacuated from Syria within 24 hours)。另外，美國軍隊(duì)大概會(huì)在60到100天內(nèi)完成從敘利亞撤軍(the time-frame for the troops withdrawal from Syria is expected to be between 60 and 100 days)。
