科學家承認“汽車尾氣”是霧霾元兇

Although scientists have not agreed on an exact percentage of vehicle exhausts' contribution to fine particulate matters in big cities, they do agree it is a major source of pollution.

盡管科學家們對于汽車尾氣在大城市PM2.5(空氣中的可吸入微小顆粒物)來源中所占百分比尚未達成一致意見，但他們一致認為汽車尾氣是主要的空氣污染源。

汽車尾氣的英文表達是vehicle/automobile exhausts，它和soil dust(土壤塵)、fire coal(燃煤)、biomass burning(生物質(zhì)燃燒)、waste incineration(垃圾焚燒)、industrial pollution(工業(yè)污染)一起被認為是北京PM2.5主要污染源。

目前為了減少汽車尾氣，各大城市都開始實行restrictions on purchasing motor vehicles(機動車限購政策)，同時通過charging higher prices for diesel fuel and parking(提高汽油價格和停車費)來提高機動車的usage costs(使用成本)。
