Welcome back to Business English Pod. In this lesson, we're going to take a look at idioms relatedto time.
歡迎回到商務(wù)英語播客。這一課中,我們將學(xué)習(xí)和時間有關(guān)系的習(xí)語。
At work and in business, time is always a concern. We rush to get to the office "on time", we work hard to finish projects "in time" and we sometimes have to work "overtime" to get it all done. If you're like most people, you watch the clock and the calendarconstantly. It's hard not to with such busy schedules and tight timelines.
在工作和商務(wù)過程,時間總是一個很受關(guān)注的問題。我們按時地趕到辦公室,我們努力地完成項(xiàng)目,有時我們不得不加班把任務(wù)完成。如果像大多數(shù)的人那樣,你持續(xù)地看鐘和日歷。如果沒有緊張的日程和時間安排,事情很難做好。
In English, time idioms focus on a few key ideas. We hear the word "time" a lot, as well as the words "clock" and "hour". Many of the idioms are related to speed, duration, regularity, and how late or early something happens or is finished. We also see a lot of idioms related to timepressure.
在英語中,時間習(xí)語和一些關(guān)鍵點(diǎn)有關(guān)系。我們常常聽到時間,還有鐘和小時。習(xí)語中的許多和速度,期間,規(guī)律,和事情發(fā)生的早和晚,或者事情的結(jié)束有關(guān)系。我們也聽到過很多和時間壓力有關(guān)的習(xí)語。
In this lesson, we'll hear a conversation between Jeff and Claire, two project managers who are overseeing the development of a mobile phone application and a new website. We will hear them discuss timelines on different parts of the project and different project teams.
在這一課中,我們將聽到兩個監(jiān)督手機(jī)應(yīng)用和新網(wǎng)站的發(fā)展的項(xiàng)目經(jīng)理杰夫和克萊爾的對話。我們將聽到他們談?wù)撛陧?xiàng)目不同階段和其它項(xiàng)目的時間安排。
