李宗偉退出世錦賽及亞運會

Malaysian shuttler Lee Chong Wei, who is still chasing a world championship, had to pull out of this year's BWF World Championships and the Indonesian Asian Games due to "a respiratory related disorder," the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) said in a statement on Tuesday.

周二，馬來西亞羽毛球協(xié)會在一份聲明中稱，馬來西亞羽毛球運動員李宗偉因“呼吸系統(tǒng)疾病”，不得不退出今年的世界錦標(biāo)賽和印尼亞運會。

In the past week, Lee failed to join other shuttlers at the training sessions, fueling speculation that he may miss the World Championships, which begins on July 30 in China's Nanjing.

在過去的一周里，李宗偉未能參加其他羽毛球運動員的訓(xùn)練，這加劇了人們的猜測，即他可能會錯過7月30日在中國南京舉行的世界錦標(biāo)賽。

The statement said Lee informed BAM that he is unwell and that his doctor advised him to rest and undergo treatment.

該聲明中指出，李宗偉告知馬來西亞羽毛球協(xié)會自己身體不適，而他的醫(yī)生也建議他休息并接受治療。

 

BAM said that Lee is not allowed to undergo intense physical activity for a month, so he will have to be withdrawn from the championships.

馬來西亞羽毛球協(xié)會稱，在一個月的時間內(nèi)，李宗偉不得進行激烈的體育活動，所以他將不得不退出錦標(biāo)賽。

Lee, who is about to turn 36 this October, is the silver medal winner at the World Championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015.

Though he is often mentioned together with China's Lin Dan as a top level player, he still needs a world title win.

Lee seemed to be back in top shape this year, when he ended Kento Momota's winning streak in the Malaysian Open final and clinched his 12th Malaysia Open title.

Before the World Championships, he rose to second place in the world rankings, only behindViktor Axelsen from Denmark. During the Malaysia Open, Lee told reporters that he wants to maintain his form and play in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
