四、現在進行時

1.基本用法

（1）表示現在正在進行的動作。

I am writing a letter to my brother.我正在寫封信給我哥哥。

It is still raining hard outside.外面仍下著大雨。

（2）表示現階段正在進行的動作。

He is teaching in a middle school.他在一所中學教書。

Jimmy is writing a novel this year.吉米今年在寫小說。

2.其他用法

（1）現在進行時表示將來時。

常用動詞：arrive become begin come die finish forget get go leave start stay turn

Father is getting fat.父親越來越胖了。

The leaves are turning yellow.樹葉逐漸變黃了。

Our house is becoming old.我們的屋子逐漸變舊了。

It is beginning to rain.快要下雨了。

（2）表示說話者一種情感色彩。

She is always complaining.她老喜歡抱怨。（厭惡）

Are you feeling better this morning？ 你今天早上覺得好些嗎？（同情）

Why aren’t you studying？ 你為什么不讀書？（責備）

Well，I am telling you the truth！ 唔，我是在和你說真話啊?。◤娬{）

What are you doing here，girls？ 小姐們，你們在這兒干什么？（好奇）

John is bothering me and keeping me from work.

約翰一直打擾我，使我不能工作。（不滿）

You are helping me，darling.親愛的，你真幫我的忙。（快樂）

John is doing fine work at school.約翰在學校里表現很好。（贊賞）
