2.must的用法

（1）表示義務(wù)及強(qiáng)烈的勸告，意為“必須”、“應(yīng)該”、“一定要”。

You must get to the station before three o’clock.你必須在3點(diǎn)鐘以前到達(dá)車站。

The time is up，we must go.時(shí)間到了，我們必須走了。

You must not drive without a license.你不得無證開車。

（2）must的疑問中，肯定答語用must（有必要），否定答語用need not（沒有必要）。

— Must I rewrite the report？ 我得重寫報(bào)告嗎？

— Yes，you must.你有必要重寫。

— No，you need not.你沒必要重寫。

（3）must的否定式表示一種強(qiáng)烈的語氣，意為“嚴(yán)禁，絕對不能”。

We mustn’t waste our time.我們絕對不能浪費(fèi)時(shí)間。

Passengers must not walk across the railway line.旅客嚴(yán)禁橫穿鐵路。

（4）表示推測

【比較】

①The man must have a lot of money.這個(gè)人一定有不少錢。（對現(xiàn)在情況的推測）

②He must be doing his homework.他一定在做他的作業(yè)。（對正在進(jìn)行情況的推測）

③He must have mistaken my meaning.他一定誤會了我的意思。（對過去情況的推測）

3.must與have to的區(qū)別

（1）must 側(cè)重“主觀上認(rèn)為必須做某事”；have to則重于客觀需要，“不得不做某事”。

The work must be done as soon as possible.這工作必須盡早完成。

Everyone must keep the law.人人都要守法。

The last train has gone.We’ll have to walk home.

最后一班車開了，我們不得不走回家。

It’s too late.We have to hurry up.時(shí)間不早了，我們得趕緊。

（2）時(shí)態(tài)上，must 只有一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)，have to則有多種時(shí)態(tài)形式。

You will have to show your pass at the gate.在大門口你得出示證件。

We have had to postpone the meeting，due to the Chairwoman’s illness.

由于女主席生病了，我們不得不推遲開會。
