一、表語(yǔ)形容詞

1.常見(jiàn)表語(yǔ)形容詞

（1）以a-開(kāi)頭的形容詞

afraid 害怕的　　　alike 相似的　　alive 活的　　alone 單獨(dú)的

ashamed 慚愧的　　 asleep 睡著的　 awake 醒著的　aware 知道的

（2）某些表示健康的形容詞

fine 健康的 ill 有病的 poorly 健康欠佳的 well 身體健康的

（3）某些描述感覺(jué)或心情的形容詞

glad 高興的 pleased 高興的 sorry 難過(guò)的 upset 心煩意亂的

content 滿(mǎn)意的

（4）其他表語(yǔ)形容詞

certain 確信的　　　　drunk 醉的　　　　　　　due 到期的，應(yīng)得的

fond 喜歡的，溫柔的　 liable 易遭受……影響的　 sure 確信的

unable 不能……的　　　 worth 值得的

2.表語(yǔ)形容詞的句法作用

（1）作表語(yǔ)

Don’t be afraid.別怕。

He was alone in the house.他獨(dú)自一人在家里。

Is the baby still asleep？ 這個(gè)嬰兒還在睡覺(jué)嗎？

My family are all fond of going to the cinema.我全家都愛(ài)看電影。

We are not content with the present achievements.我們不滿(mǎn)足于目前的成就。

（2）作后置定語(yǔ)

Man alone has the gift of speech.唯有人類(lèi)有語(yǔ)言的天賦。

She is a girl afraid of dog.她是個(gè)怕狗的女孩。

【提示】 作后置定語(yǔ)時(shí)，相當(dāng)于一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句。

He is the greatest writer alive.他是當(dāng)今最偉大的作家。

He is the greatest writer who is alive.

（3）作賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)

Scientists found these birds alike in many ways.

科學(xué)家發(fā)現(xiàn)這些鳥(niǎo)在許多方面相似。

I found her afraid of dogs.我發(fā)現(xiàn)她怕狗。

（4）作狀語(yǔ)

Afraid of being cut off，they lost no time in turning back.

由于害怕被切斷，他們趕緊退回去。

3.表語(yǔ)形容詞的修飾語(yǔ)

（be）wide/fully awake 完全清醒　　　　　?。╞e）sound/fast/deeply asleep 酣睡，熟睡

（be）quite alone 非常孤獨(dú)　　　　　 　　?。╞e）still alive 仍然活著
